About the program

Google for Startups Accelerator: Circular Economy is a 10-week virtual program for Seed to Series A technology startups and non-profit organizations based in North America and Asia-Pacific. It’s designed to bring the best of Google’s programs, products, people, network, and technology to the most innovative and impactful innovators working to realize a future without waste.

In addition to mentorship and project support on technical subjects like artificial intelligence and machine learning, geospatial, and Google Cloud, the Accelerator will focus on product design, customer acquisition, leadership development, expert-led circular economy deep dives, workshops, cutting-edge research, and leadership development.

Each cohort will comprise 10-15 organizations using technology to tackle circular economy challenges. These challenges include reuse, refill, recycling, composting, fashion, food, safe and circular materials, and the built environment.

Entry Criteria

  • Startups demonstrating traction, ideally between Seed and Series A stage
  • Building a scalable product or service with a significant total addressable market and defensible growth model
  • Deeply technical, preferably leveraging technologies like machine learning and AI
  • Commitment from CTO and/or technical roles to participate and engage in required program sessions
  • We are committed to building Accelerator classes that are diverse and inclusive, and encourage applications from qualified startups with founders of all backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, veteran status, and geography

Does the Accelerator take equity?

No, all Google for Startups Accelerator programs provide technical mentorship, product resources, networking opportunities, and support without taking equity.

When does the Accelerator run?

The accelerator will be announced and start accepting applications on October 3rd. The cohort will be announced in February 2023 and mentoring will commerce between February to April 2023. We aim to graduate the cohort in May 2023. The program will run for 10-weeks.

What is the program capacity?

Each cohort will host approximately 10-15 companies.

What are the criteria to receive product credits, and what does "eligible for product credits" mean?
