Frequently asked questions
The accelerator runs for a period of 12-weeks with online mentorship sessions taking place each month. As part of the Google for Startups Accelerator, selected founders outline the top technical challenges facing their startup, and are then paired with relevant experts from Google to help solve those challenges. Participating startups receive deep mentorship on technical challenges with an emphasis on data and machine learning, as well as connections to relevant teams from across Google.
The accelerator program is best suited for AI/ML-focused Seed to Series A revenue generating tech startups that are headquartered in Brazil. Selected companies should have a minimum of 5+ employees and the founder and appropriate team members (as the CTO or Technical leaders) must be available to join all program elements of their cohort. In order to ensure Google can provide meaningful value, startups should be building AI/ML technology in their product, service or operations.
Selected startups are given:
- Access to Google engineers, technical project partnership, Google product support and advice, custom mentorship,
- Inclusion in Google for Startups Accelerator Global Community and network of alumni,
- Google Cloud Credits,
- Marketing spotlight opportunities.
*No grants or funding are given to startups on the program.
No, we do not take any equity or charge fees. The Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First programs are completely free of charge for all startups. All you need to contribute is your time and energy.
We are looking for startups dedicated to solving challenges using cloud technology, AI, ML, or data in the most diverse sectors that can grow globally.
We review startup applications to see if companies can participate in the program. We consider criteria such as team formation, the problem, the solution, the ability to scale, and the fit of the company's current moment with the program. Eligible companies will be reviewed by a panel of experts or by program staff in an interview. Finally, a board selection committee will analyze the startups chosen in the interview phase to define the final list.
Startups must meet specific criteria to be eligible for Google product credit offerings. To learn more about the Google Cloud credit eligibility requirements, please visit the Google Cloud startup page.
