Fintech startup Taxfix increases its registered users by 1000x using automated campaigns from Google Ads

“Our campaign goals were far exceeded”

- CEO & Cofounder Mathis Büchi

Most of us dread the tax return. With the Taxfix app, this unpopular task can be done conveniently and from anywhere. With just a few clicks, Taxfix guides its users step-by-step through tax issues, without complex forms. Goal: maximum tax refund. Time required: about 22 minutes.

With this convincing offer, CEO and Cofounder Mathis Büchi expected thousands of downloads: "We had exceptionally high growth targets, and wanted to reach as many users as possible in a short time."

But how do you determine the right target group and really reach them? And how do you design the marketing campaign for an app as efficiently and successfully as possible?

The solution to all these questions was provided by Google's app campaigns.

"We were very surprised at how easy it was to create campaigns in a very short time," says Natasha Mina, Taxfix Senior Marketing Manager. "We just had to decide which images and videos to use." The algorithm did the rest of the work. "The campaigns almost ran by themselves."

With just a few clicks, Taxfix was able to reach its target group via all Google channels, such as search, display and YouTube and with the right message at the right time. The automation also saved a lot of time that the team could use in strategy.

The result: The number of registered users rose from around 200 to 200,000 within a short period of time. In addition, switching the bidding strategy from installs to registrations enabled an increase of 25 percent on the return on investment (ROI).
